Afamefuna Atu(Echeribe)

 Mr Afamefuna Atu was born to the family of Mr. & Mrs.Okonkwo Atu in Attakwu Akegbe Ùgwù Okunano.
 Enugu State.

He had very humble beginnings and often made remarks of how difficult it was for him to learn to read and write until his uncle touched a nerve in him by asking the father to engage him into apprenticeship as he can not learn to read, instead of wasting his money on him.

His father discouraged and in a fit of disappointment talked to his son and in a moment of father to son bonding and was able to arouse the real man in him.

It suddenly dawned on Afamefuna the implications of not being able to go to school. And he swore, from that very moment after the talk with his father that never again will he allow anyone to define his life.

Courageously, he began to rough it up like everyone else. He was exposed to all the terrible discomforts of poverty, penury and pains of growing in the highly unsupportive system of Nigeria.

But he survived, and ever since has vowed to commit the rest of his life for what it's worth to touching lives of the great many who like him constantly faced those challenges he passed through growing up, hence his dream project was born in the form of Kingscare Foundation.

You are all invited to see for yourself some of his campaigns of touching lives in Okunano Osagwede and beyond in the attached pictures and videos.


Projects delivered in 2021 includes the following;

1= Annual MamaThankMa for all the mother's in Enugu East senatorial zone.

2=Free eye medical care in Nkanu East and West.

3=Medical bills for the vulnerables both in Orthopaedic,UNTH and Parkland.

4=Enugu Half a Marathon race (₦1million grand price)

5= Scholarship scheme for primary and secondary students in Akegbe Ugwu.

6=The official sponsor of CCRN Enugu diocesan quiz 2021.

7= Distribution of writing materials to all the primary school in Nkanu East and West.

8= Clothing 1000 aged women in Nkanu East and West coming soon.

 There are many other programs and projects which he had sponsored in the past and present which could not be mentioned here.

Ten years on and it looks as if it was just yesterday. The memories about him remain evergreen because he lives in the hearts that he touched. And they are many! Neither a star nor comet heralded his birth on March 19, 1942 but the then rusty Amechi, Awkunanaw community in today’s Enugu State had the presence of mind to recognize that a child who would later shine brighter than star had been born.
