A very rich part of our cultural heritage is embedded in our manner of speech or proverbs. Okunano as an integral part of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria West Africa is blessed with a unique language. The Okunano dialect popular amongst other Igbo tribes as the Wawa dialect comes out in a class of its own considering her wealth of idiomatic expressions. Let’s attempt to capture some of these proverbs here for documentation and subsequent publication on AV, Say any proverb here and let’s all try to explain it: Examples -
1. Ana ahafu ishishi eka agba uri ona?
2. Eya nnekwu-okuko n’ eche ekwa eyaa!
3. Agbuta akrihi, Akrihi agbuta nwanne eya.
4. Ukwu na afhia, ogodo na afhia
