Minstrelsy is found globally. And minstrels have appeared   in   societies   as  singers,musicians, or reciters of poems, with the characteristic of itinerancy for performances.

 Normally,they compel awe and respect in such performances. In former times, the skills of the minstrels were seen as spiritual. 

The minstrels themselves were considered sacred. And they were invited by kings and “loaded with honours and awards”

In Okunanoland, we have always sourced water from the community streams and rivers…but as urbanization has emerged to envelope us, our streams have dried up. what is left of the rivers are now polluted water and no good for drinking. Does it matter if Okunano dialect ( our mother-tongue) dies?

If I were to speak to my brother in our mother-tongue in a public place, this would be considered rude and bad manners, by Nigerian standards, at least. I think this is a shame, because by letting languages die we are letting a culture to die! Nevertheless it is good to have a unifying language. English has done this in this totally globalized world.
